Looking for a budget-friendly game in Vegas? This is it

When we think about playing casino games in Las Vegas it conjures up visions of high rollers who are willing to wager thousands at a time. We already know that you don’t need a massive bankroll to enjoy all that Vegas has to offer. If you’re willing to explore a little further, you can still find blackjack tables with a $5 buy-in and, if you go off the strip, you’ll find tables where the minimum wager is even less. What if you’re looking for a bit of variation though? Well, the unlikely solution can be found by playing Bingo in Vegas.

Let’s be honest, the thought of bingo probably brings about images of groups of the elderly playing in a small hall somewhere. The truth, however, is that bingo is big business in Vegas and it’s far more popular than you may think.

Bingo in Vegas

Beyond the Strip

Bingo brings in plenty of money in Vegas. Over the last year, casinos that offer the game have benefited from around $40 million. That’s around 20% of all of the money that was wagered. Admittedly, when you compare this to the likes of blackjack, slots and roulette, the income is hardly amazing but it is still welcomed by the casinos that offer it.

When it comes to the casinos that do have bingo games, you won’t find these on the Vegas Strip. The thing is, there is so much more to Vegas than just the tourist corridor and, if you’re willing to explore, you’ll find that there is so much going on. There are no plans right now to bring bingo to the strip, but that’s not an issue to those who enjoy the game as they know exactly where to head.

Who’s playing bingo?

As we’ve touched on, many people will associate bingo with a room full of seniors rather than the usual casino-going crowd. This is nothing more than a stereotype and it couldn’t be further from the truth. Yes, there are plenty of older players to be found, but you’ll find younger players too. These are players on the hunt for a new experience or even just on the lookout for complimentary drinks!

A recent survey has provided a breakdown of just who is playing and the results may surprise you:

  • 59% are Millennials
  • 21 % are Gen X
  • 14% are Gen Z
  • 6% are Baby Boomers

As you can see, it’s certainly not the seniors who are ruling bingo.

While you won’t find any games of bingo on the Vegas Strip, that doesn’t mean that you need to travel to the middle of nowhere to find them. In fact, you just need to wander for a few minutes and you’ll soon find bingo games available in downtown Las Vegas.

Where to play Bingo in Vegas

If you decide that you want to give bingo a try, you’ll find that there are only around 20 casinos in Vegas that offer the game. As we have seen, none of these are on the Strip. While you won’t find the game being offered by some of the bigger names, you just need to take a 5-minute ride to find casinos that do. The casinos closest to the Strip that offer bingo are:

  • Palace Station
  • Gold Coast

The majority of bingo games will need you to travel a little further. These casinos offer the game and are around 10-30 minutes away from the Vegas Strip:

  • Aliante
  • Arizona Charlie’s
  • Boulder Station
  • Cannery
  • Green Valley Ranch
  • Jerry’s Nugget
  • Rampart
  • Red Rock
  • Sam’s Town
  • Santa Fe Station
  • South Point
  • Suncoast
  • Sunset Station

These casinos all offer great daily games but there are also some special games with some huge jackpots.

Bingo in Vegas – A look a special bingo games

There are jackpot games on offer throughout the year as long as you know which casinos to head to. If you take a look at South Point, there is a $2 million extravaganza set for March 2023. The last time this event was held was in November 2022 and it sold out well in advance.

Some of the other events that you’ll come across include:

  • Boyd Gaming – Power Bingo
  • Plaza – Super Bingo
  • Palace Station – numerous events and offers

Something else that attracts players to bingo in Vegas is the fact that every casino that offers the game also offers complimentary drinks. You’ll even find some of these go a step further and offer free doughnuts to those who are playing before 9 am. Individual bingo rooms will have different offerings so it’s worth checking these out before you start to play.

The different types of Bingo in Vegas

There are now two ways that you can play bingo in a casino. The traditional method is where players mark their numbers on a bingo card. The modern version does away with the traditional bingo card. Instead, a machine is used and this automatically marks the numbers on behalf of the player. All that the player needs to do is watch and hope for the win.

There are some players who love the modern-day version as it takes away the stress of trying to locate and mark the numbers in time. For other players though, this stress is all part of the fun and they try and avoid the electronic version of the game.

Play Bingo in Vegas on a budget

One of the main attractions of bingo in Las Vegas is the fact that you don’t need a huge bankroll to enjoy it. If you look at the cost of playing for an hour, this comes in at around $4 and you simply can’t find any other casino game that offers such value.

If you look at an hour’s worth of entertainment, along with complimentary drinks, $4 is nothing short of a bargain This is why younger players are being attracted to the game. Yes, there will always be a place for the likes of blackjack, poker and roulette but bingo is the game of choice for those on a strict budget.
