Downtown Rocks – Why Las Vegas?

Figures taken from 2021 make for interesting reading. The Nevada Gaming Abstract reported that some 59% of revenue at the biggest casinos in Downtown Las Vegas was generated by gambling. When looking at the revenue generated by gaming on the Vegas Strip, this falls to 41%. While, at first glance, the difference between gaming revenue may be a little confusing, when you take a closer look it makes obvious sense.

When you look at the Vegas Strip, what comes to mind? It’s all about glitz, glamour, and show. These are casinos that benefit from resident artists, offer the best in dining, and have some of the most glamorous hotel rooms that you’re unlikely to find anywhere else. Venture away from the Strip, and things get a little different.

When you find yourself in Downtown Las Vegas, you’ll find that the glitz and glamour are all but gone. What Downtown Vegas has to offer is modest. Something that the Strip isn’t capable of offering.

The thing is, it’s these key differences that make Las Vegas the go-to destination for gambling. Vegas has something to offer every kind of player. If gamblers are seeking affordable gaming, with odds and rules that are friendly, they know that Downtown is the place to head. This area caters equally well to both locals and tourists. If you venture even further away from the Strip, you’ll find casinos that largely exist to serve the locals.

What you’ll find with Downtown Vegas is that it’s all about great value. There’s even an abundance of free entertainment that you just can’t find anywhere else. With summer just around the corner, details of the Downtown Rocks series have just been released. The concerts that form this series are fronted by some of the best national bands that you’ll come across and they’re all completely free of charge.

As well as great free entertainment, Downtown Vegas has even more to offer to fans of blackjack. It offers plenty of casino games where the payout for a natural blackjack is still 3:2 and it still offers games where the minimum bet is less than $25. This makes Downtown Vegas appear to be a million miles away from the Strip and that’s exactly why you need to be there this summer.

The Downtown Rocks Concert series

If you know anything about Las Vegas, you’ll realize that the Fremont Street Downtown Rocks Concert series is a well established, traditional, summer event. When it comes to town, all of the regular free entertainment is put on hold as famous national artists take to the stage instead.

These free concerts are certainly worth attending. You will usually find that the visiting artists are also appearing at locations nearby and charging for their events. When free performances are up for grabs, it just makes sense to be there if you can.

If you need examples so that you can see the value that’s being offered, you just need to look at Everclear.  Here’s a band giving its all at the Downtown Rocks Concerts while also playing elsewhere. The summer performance at the M Resort will set you back a minimum of $35 so it just makes sense to take in the concert for free while you can.

Downtown Rocks – What’s on offer besides Blackjack during 2022?

The summer concerts of 2022 go well beyond just the summer. This time around, you’ll find that the concerts keep going all the way until November. The majority of the concerts start at around 9 pm, and these are the ones that we’ve still got to look forward to:

  • Mon, Jul 4th – Molly Hatchet (3rd St Stage, Time TBD)
  • Sat, Jul 23rd – Sebastian Bach (1st St Stage)
  • Sat, Jul 30th – Hoobastank, Soul Asylum, Alien Ant Farm (1st St Stage, Time TBD)

The best in music and blackjack

You may already know that Downtown Las Vegas is often referred to as ‘Old Vegas’. That name doesn’t quite hold true now given that nearly all of the casinos here have undergone some serious refurbishments. While the casinos have been brought bang up to date, what the area still has to offer is the best value that you can find.

You will find hotel rooms that are more than reasonably priced. You’ll also find games of blackjack that have the most player-friendly rules and are open to practically anyone. You don’t need to be a high roller to enjoy the action. In fact, if you’re looking at wagering less than $25 Downtown Las Vegas is the place to be.

This summer could see you enjoying the very best in music that’s completely free of charge. When you combine this with the very best in blackjack, you have a summer that’s unique and can’t be matched anywhere else.
