RDR2 Blackjack

A brief look at RDR2 and Rockstar Games

If you’re a fan of console games and violent ones at that, there’s a great chance that you’ll already know who Rockstar Games is. It’s the company behind perhaps one of the most popular, and violent, console games ever made: Grand Theft Auto.

It was back in 2018 that the company launched RDR2 and, just like the majority of the company’s games, it became an instant hit. It sees players visiting the Wild West back in 1899 and experiencing the history of blackjack through the eyes of the protagonist Arthur Morgan. As you’d expect in the Wild West, there are numerous saloons to visit and, what’s great about this for us is, that you can play blackjack in a selection of them.

RDR2 Blackjack  and a whole host of other mini-games

When playing RDR2, there’s very little chance of getting bored or running out of things to do. There are some great options to get involved with such as shooting down some of the most dangerous gangs around, going on a hunt, and a whole host of other activities.

As much as we’re fans of all that’s going on in the game, the big draw for us is blackjack. While the blackjack game is pretty amazing, there’s one major problem: it’s pretty hard to find the locations where you can play. The RDR2 map is vast and it’s unlikely that you’ll simply stumble across the places where you can enjoy a hand or two. Fortunately, we now know exactly where to look and that’s what we’re going to share with you now:

The Town of Rhodes – Where to play RDR2 Blackjack

If you’re seeking out a game of blackjack, the first place where you can find this is in the town of Rhodes. All that you need to do is take a wander into the saloon here and you can play as much blackjack as you like. To find the saloon, you’ll need to head to the furthest southern point of the town.

Once you’re outside the saloon, you can enter with style via the swing doors. As soon as you’re inside, you need to take a wander up the stairs where you’ll spot three people who are more than willing to take you on. If you decide to play here, the buy-in is $4.

Blackwater – Where to play RDR2 Blackjack

The opportunity to play blackjack at Blackwater isn’t open to just anyone. Before you can do this, you need to have made your way through the main RDR2 story. Once you’ve done this, you’re free to head over to the saloon that’s situated on Main Street, in the center of the town.

What makes the Blackwater saloon even easier to find is that it’s marked on the map once you’ve worked your way through the main story. The buy-in here is set at $5.

Van Horn Trading Post – Where to play RDR2 Blackjack

Perhaps unsurprisingly, this location is also set in a saloon. You can find this one in the very center of town. This is the kind of location where you really need to embrace the ways of the Wild West if you want to get involved with the games of blackjack that are on offer here.

The best way to get involved is to burst in and start a brawl in true cowboy style. When it comes to the buy-in here, you’ll find that it varies depending upon the time of day. You’ll even come across some real busy periods where there’s no room at the table and this can be a little frustrating.

The Outlaw’s Main Camp – Where to play RDR2 Blackjack

This location is a little different to others. The others see blackjack as a permanent fixture. With this one, the game pops up randomly so you never quite know when you’re going to be able to play. You can find the main camp with relative ease as it’s clearly shown on the map. It’s just figuring out when you can actually play that is a little more tricky.

Playing in the main camp means that you’re playing against other cowboys and this means that things can get a little heated. When it comes to the buy-in, this is another location where it will vary depending upon the time of day.

Knowing how to play

If you’re already a blackjack fan then you’re not going to run into any problems here. You’ll find that the blackjack rules are pretty much the same as you’d find at an online casino. If you’re a complete novice, however, you may want to take some time to master the game a little before you start eating into your bankroll.

There are plenty of places where you can play online blackjack for free. These free games give you a great chance to learn the game so that when you then sit down to play for real money, you know what the game is all about and the best blackjack strategy to use.

Final thoughts

In its own right, RDR2 is an awesome game and the main story is enough to keep any gamer entertained. The blackjack games provide a special touch and a sense of escape. As long as you can find the four locations where blackjack takes place, you can be sure of a great playing experience.
